As the two people push on each other, both of them go back because of Newton's third law.
Newton's 1st Law
Newton's 2nd Law
Newton's 3rd Law
The car stops, but the person keeps moving. This is because of inertia, Newton's first law.
According to Newton's second law, even though the elephant is bigger, it will fall at the same rate as the person.
Newton's First Law-an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force... an object in motion continues in motion with the same speed and in the same directon unless acted on upon by an unbalanced force.
Newton's Second Law-acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass... the greater the mass of the object being accelerated, the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate the object.
Newton's Third Law-for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
