New York RangersWhen the NHL was formed The New York Rangers were made in 1925 the Rangers were one of first 6 teams. The New York Rangers first goal was scored by Bill Cook and the first goalie to get a shutout for the Rangers was Hal Winkler. The first person to have a shut out in NHL history ! The Rangers won the Stanley Cup in years 1928, 1933, 1940, 1994.

New York State GeographyNew York State is 47,214 square miles. The State Capital Albany. This small state has 58 counties.This State has a low point, a high point, and a central point . The low point is the Atlantic Ocean at sea level. The high point is MT. Marcy at 5,344 feet located in the county subdivision of Essex. The central point is located in Madison approx. It is about 12 miles south of One Diand than 26 miles southwest of a place called Utica.

Empire State Building The Empire State Building Construction for this building began March 17, 1930. A little more than a year later... The Empire State Building opened in May 1931. It took 410 days to make! That’s more than a year . The Empire State Building has 102 floors. It also took 3,400 workers.The Starrett Brothers and Eken were constructed to build it. The Empire State Building was the biggest building in the world until 1972. The building is 1,250 feet. Fun fact lightning strikes the Empire State Building 100 times in one year. Fun fact it takes 1,860 steps to get to the top of the Empire State Building.

Madison Square GardenMadison Square Garden has been rebuilt three times ! The first one was built in 1879 this one of the best stadiums in the world. The stadium has 20,000 seats. The stadium has been hosting events from sports to music for 132 years. Madison Square Garden is home to the New York Knicks and the Rangers.

Derek Stepan Derek Stepan was born June 18, 1990. Derek grow up in Hastings Minnesota. Derek was drafted in the second round fifty first over all picked by the Rangers in 2008 in the NHL draft. Derek Stepan's position is center. Fun fact in Derek Stepan first NHL game he scored a hat trick [ score three goals in one game]. He was the first player on the Rangers to do so and the fourth person in NHL history.

New York Rangers part 2 Last season the Rangers had a pretty good run in the playoffs. Round one the Rangers there rival the Philadelphia Flyers we beat them in the series 3-4. Round two Rangers played the Pittsburgh Penguins down 1-3 in the series but we came back won three straight. Eastern Conference final Rangers played the Montreal Canadiens won the series 4-2. Twenty percent of the world's fresh water lies in the Great Lakes and most of it flows over the Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is the world's second largest waterfall. October 24, 1901 Annie Taylor was the first person to go down Niagara falls in a wooden barrel. Annie Taylor was 63 at that time.
