What is Neurofibromatosis?Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that disturbs cell growth in your nervous system, causing tumors to form on the nerve tissue in the skin, brain, and other parts of the body.Most adults with this condition develop non-canerous tumors on or just under the skin. Others may develop cancerous tumors along nerves.

Treatments..Treatment for neurofibromatosis type 1 depends on the symptoms that a person has.-observation and evaluation are often primary treatments for tumors associated with NF1-sugery may be considered for some tumors-radiation theapy or chemotherapy may also be used to treat some tumors-THERE IS NO CURE

Symptoms Include..Symptoms usually appear in childhood or early adulthood.-flat, light brown spots on skin-freckling in the armpits or groin area-soft bumps on or under the skin-bone deformities-learning disabilities-larger than average head size-short stature
