After Nelson Mandela successfully ended apartheid he had to learn how to run for presidental canpaign in order to run for president.

Nelson Mandela leads a group called the "African National Congress" to peacefully end apartheid against the discrimination.

Nelson Mandela ran for President. Nelson Mandela became the first black president on May 10th 1994 to 1999 when the African National Congress won 62% of the votes. He has established Truth and Reconciliation Commission which investigated human rights. He then died on December 5th at the age of 95

Nelson Mandela was born in 1918 and his tribe name is Rolihlahla. He was born a member of the Madiba clan. A british teacher then changed his name to"Nelson" because its more of a catholic name than his usual name, Rolihlahla.

In 1962 Nelson Mandela was arrested because he was accused of sabotage and many other charges, he was then sentenced to life in prison for 27 years.

His father died when Nelson Mandela was nine, he was raised by royalty. As a result, he was the first person in his family to attend school. He went to a Wesleyan school and college, he also had an interest in running and boxing. The young Nelson Mandela was very intelligent.

Nelson Mandela was 71 when he was allowed to leave prison, a new law passed in and gave equality to all South Africans. On December 5th people payed tribute to him.

Nelson Mandela's teaching touched peoples hearts and he showed unity to all people because he welcomed them even though they were a different culture and/or colour and he treated every one with kindness and respect.
