Nelson Mandela
Biography
He was born in 18 of July of 1918 in South Africa. He served as president from 1994 to 1999. Before being elected he was a militant anti-apartheid activist. In 1962 he was arrested and senteced to life imprisonment. he was 27 years on jail, and when he went out he was elected as president. As president, he frequently gave priority to reconcilation. In South Africa, Mandela is often known as Madiba. In 1993 He recived the Nobel Peace Prize. He got married three times, and he has 6 children.
He fougth for equal righths of the black people, against the apartheit. He went to prision because of it. And when he went out, he became the first black president of South Africa.
The result was that for first time, the black people had "a voice", and the white didn't like that. But Mandela tried to unite all the people, and he used the Rugby WorldCup for that.
