Nellie Stone Johnson

Nellie's days were packed with work and school. But she still found time for fun too! During the winter her and her friends loved to go skating on a nearby pond. When the weather got warm they all liked to play baseball.Nellie and her family spent time together too. They had family church picnics after church, they played games and ate a good lunch. That is whenever they could! Nellie's life was not all work and play!

Nellie was born in 1905. She is an African American. Nellie lives on a dairy farm with her mom, dad, brothers Richard and Herbert, and her sister Mayme. Nellie enjoys living on the farm with her family.

Nellie learned to drive an automobile when she was just ten years old! The automobile cut their families travel time in half! Nellie also enjoyed the travtor. It made their life on the farm much easier. She didn't have electricity, but she said she would rather not. Not yet at least!
