What did Neil Armstrong do after college?After Neil finished his degree at Purdue University Neil got married to Janet Shearon. Their first son Eric was born in 1957. Later they had a girl karen who was born in 1959. Karen was diagnosed with cancer. After christmas Karen died in 1962. Later that year Neil was accepted into the second group of nine astronauts on Gemini 8. Neil’s second son Mark was born in 1963. Neil had his first flight to space on Gemini 8 in 1966. Neil became the captain of Apollo 11 and the first man to walk on the moon in 1969. Neil left his job at NASA in 1970. Later Neil became a college professor at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Neil divorced Janet Shearon in 1994 and married Carol Held Knight later that year. Neil Armstrong died on August 25th, 2012.

What was Neil Armstrong's life like before he became famous?Neil Armstrong was born on August 5th, 1930, in Wapakoneta Ohio. He lived with his mom, dad, and 2 siblings. When neil was a kid he loved all types of aerospace. He would make rubber band propelled airplanes and launch them out of his window. Neil received his Eagle Scout rank from Boy Scout Troop 14 in 1947. When Neil was 15 he received his pilot's licence. Neil went to purdue university to study aeronautical engineering on a Navy scholarship. Because Neil had a scholarship he had to go to Korea to serve his time. During his time in Korea Neil would bomb enemy bridges.
