Necoclí history begins with the Spanish conquerors and aboriginal Indians. Gateway to the Iberian to Antioch and inhabited during those times by the ethnicity of the Kuna, the region has a strong historical tradition and a high socio-cultural value. In the district several indigenous reserves are preserved, 22 kilometers from the header, which constitute a tourist attraction and anthropological science.

Necoclí is a municipality of Colombia, located in the subregion of Urabá in the department of Antioquia. Bordered on the north by the Caribbean Sea and the town of San Juan de Urabá, on the east by the town of Arboletes, on the south by the municipality of Turbo and west by the Caribbean Sea. Its head is 391 kilometers from the city of Medellin, Antioquia department capital. The municipality has an area of 1,361 square kilometers.
