The Nazi's Military Forces

War PlanAt the beginning of the War the Nazi’s simply demanded more land, and what would be the Allied forces gave in to their demands, in what is called appeasement. When the War started, and the Allies stopped giving into Hitler’s demands, the Nazis used their power to advance quickly and without mercy in what was called Blitzkrieg. Blitzkrieg is literally translated Lightning War, which accurately describes the Quickness and Intensity of the German Advancement. This can be seen in the book the Hiding Place, as the Dutch town of Haarlem fell in only a few days. The Nazi's used relentless force and a supieror military to win the war. These forces consisted of the Whermacht, the Panzers, and the crown jewel of the Third Reich the Luftwaffe.

The Panzer DivisionThe Panzer, is the name of all the German Tanks built during World War 2, The Tanks were extremely Advanced and had a chance to turn the tides of the war if used correctly. Thename Panzer is short for Panzerkampfwagon, or Armored Fighting vehicle in English. The basic structure for a Unit was 2 tank units and 1 motorized INfantry Unit. At the start of the war there were 5 regiments but towards the end there were upward of 27 in the war.

The LuftwaffeHitlers pride of the Nazi army was the Luftwaffe. Founded in 1935 the German Air force soon became the most powerful force in World War 2. Hitler Had planned to use these supreme pilots as a main weapon to take over Europe.
