Nauitcas phases of the moon

Phases of the Moonthere are different kinds of phases and i will list them for you.New moonis when there is no moon.Waxing crescent is when the moon looks like a bannana on the right side.First quarteris when the moon is half lit and the bright side is on the right.Waxing gibbousis when the moon is mostly full shining on the right side.Full moonis when the whole moon is lit up.Waning gibous is when the moon is mostly full shining on the leftThird quarteris when the moon is half shining on left side.Waning crescentis when the moon looks like a bannana on the left side

In the picture above there are all of the phases of the moon. as you can see on the right half there is the waning crecent,newmoon,waxing crecent,and the third quarter. On the left you can see that there is the waning gibbous,full moon,waxing gibboous,and the first quarter. :D

In the picture above that is a third quarter.

Did you know that the moon orbits the earth while the earth is orbiting the sun? The moon get's it's light from the sun. Where ever light from the sun shines on the moon that certain spot on the moon is effected.Where the light from the sun hit's the moon is called a phase. There are eight different phases of the moon and i will tell you about them. :D
