Nathaniel Hawthorne

Nathaniel Hawthorne was very visual, whenever he describe something or some place he describe it enough for the audience to picture in their head and also to be able to put themselves, in that situation. He was certain to have directness and clarity. His use of psychological anaysis is what sets him apart from other writers .

Hawthorne attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Sophie Peabody and Hawthorne had three children : Una and Rose and a son named Julian who later wrote a biography of his father Hawthrone. Hawthorne themes were: Adultery, Sins and also human morality


Hawthorne was influenced by a few authors, including Bunyan and Montigne. Also his purtain family background, which played a big role in his writng.

Our Old Home (1863) was his last publication before his death. Nathaniel Hawthorne died on 19 May 1864.
