My life in Texas

This is my normal day of school. I wake up at 6 a.m. I go to my kitchen and make breakfast. Then I finish to get ready and I take the bus (6:40 a.m)… my high school is far from my home. I get off the bus at 7:15 a.m. My first lesson usually is geography, than history or math and after that Spanish and/or Italian. In the latest two hours I study food and nutrition to become a cook. My favorite subject is Italian cuisine. I love Italy and I hope one day I will visit Rome or Milan. Lessons finish at 12:30 a.m and all students go to the canteen: this is the lunch time. We eat Hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta or vegetables.

Hello, I’m Allison Jones and I live in Austin (Texas), in the Kenwood Avenue n°1705, with my dad Bob and my mother Emily. I’m 14 years old and I go to the high school (first year). I have long black hair and blue eyes. I’m tall and slim but not too much… I’m kind, sociable and funny but I hate studying. I love going to school and stay with my friends.

My school name’s William Travis High School, is in Oltorf Street n°1211. The school year in Texas typically runs from the second week of September to the firsts week of June. The average school day is from 7.30 a.m to 2.30 p.m with two hours lunch break. The average number of students in class is 20 or 30. The William Travis High School is a very big institute with also elementary and middle school. The mascot of my school is a tiger. We haven’t got school uniforms but we must wear appropriate clothing. We have got also a ICT rooms, a gym, a TV set and a laboratories.

In the afternoon we do sport. We’ve cheerleading teams, basket teams, rugby teams and volleyball teams. I’m a cheerleader and we train a lot : from 2p.m to 5 p.m because almost every Saturday or Sunday afternoon we are at the matches. After the sports trainings my best friend (Lucinda) and I go in the Starbucks near the school and drink a Frappè or a Frappuccino. After that I take the bus again and go back home, do homework (always too much) and wait for my parents. Than (8:30p.m) I go to my bedroom and watch The Ellen Show (the best show ever). At 9.30p.m I switch off the television and I go to bed. This is the end of another normal school day in Texas.
