Story summary...India Opal is a 10 year old girl who has been abandoned by her mother. Her and her dad, the preacher, moved to small town in Florida. Opal finds a stray dog in the grocery store. She decides to keep the dog and she named him Winn-Dixie. Winn-Dixie helps Opal meet new friends around the town

Because of Winn-Dixie

I thought the book was a good book for children to read becuase it talked about family issues that students might be going through. Also the book was easy to read and wasn't too long.
