The 16th and early 17th century there was improvement of many types of instruments. The Renaissance was, a time of renewal, invention, and rejuvenation of both music and instruments.

Baroque is a style of Western art music from around 1600 to 1750. baroque is from the word barroco, meaning misshapen pearl. The music of this time was ornate and heavily ornamented.

The time period of the classical era is about 1730 and 1820. Dont mix of the time period with the style of music tho. we still write classical pices in the 20th centry.

The Romantic era began in the 18th or early 19th century. It went with the European artistic and literary movement that happend in the 18th century. Romantic music dominated the Romantic movement in Germany.

20th Century music is defined by the advanced technology for recording. Music was no longer limited to concerts, opera-houses, and clubs.This brought new freedom with new musical styles and forms.
