Fibromyalgia

Is Homeostasis Broken?

What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia  is a very common chronic pain disorder which effects the skeletal muscles, and effects the way the brain sends pain signals throughout the nervous system. The Symptoms include fatigue, issues sleeping, remembering things, and can effect mood. It mostly effects people over 50.

Homeostasis is definitely broken due to the fact that the person cannot function properly  due to the pain. The nerves do not function properly because they cannot transmit pain the same way.

This is a video of a therapist explaining the different types of fibromyalgia and the different types of pains and symptoms. I chose this video because it provided a good explanation.

This is a photo of what insertions of the muscles are affiliated with fibromyalgia. They are also the most common areas of pain affiliated with the condition.

This photograph shows the symptoms in animation pictures to help better show the symptoms and effects.

This photo depicts the age group and pains that are affected by suffering from fibromyalgia.

The infographic above shows the prevalence of fibromyalgia in percentage throughout different countries in the world. Norway shows the most prevalence than any other country listed in the studies.

The image above shows the different areas in which fibromyalgia causes pain. The areas here are labeled in a way to understand the places in which pain occurs rather than the the medical terms.
