Trinity College School
Ruckus
At Trinity College School there are fun and games to welcome new students. This is also called Ruckus. Ruckus promotes teamwork and brings together the student population. The social cohesion that is created benefits the students and impacts the course of the year.
In this ritual the students (or pilgrims) are divided into groups (or flocks). These groups travel around to different stations where they participate in team building activities such as tug a war, obstacle courses, dodge ball, paint twister and soccer. The returning students run these activities. Then at the event the students (or pilgrims) praise the mud pit. The mud pit is sacred at Trinity College School. Students (or pilgrims) travel through a trench of muddy water. It is a form of initiation into the school congregation.
Unity is strength... when there is teamwork and collaboration wonderful things can be acheived.-Mattie J.T. Stepanek
