Roman Numerals are a different type of number than the Arabic numbers we usually use. They were used a long time ago in the Roman Empire.Two interesting things about Roman Numerals is that they have no symbol for zero and no place value.

I is 1 VII is 7II is 2 VIII is 8III is 3 IX is 9IV is 4 X is 10 V is 5 XI is 11VI is 6 XII is 12

L is 50 C is 100D is 500 M is 1000Add a line over a Roman numeral to add 3 zeroes. Add lines on the side and top to add 5 zeroes.
