The British were doing a survey for the Great Trigonometric Survey of India to find locations of high mountains and discovered it’s existence.

Mount Everest is located in Sagarmatha, Nepal. Mount Everest is on the high point of Asia, which is on the border of Nepal and Tibet.

Its really tall and its one of the highest mountains in the world.

Yes it does and still in modern day considered as the highest mountain on earth.

Interesting Facts

“Everest” is considered an English name. It causes many inherent dangers of altitude sickness.

3679 ascents to the summit and 2436 individuals. $25.00 per person to climb it.

In 1885, Clinton Thomas Dent said it was possible to climb Mount Everest.

In 1996 was the deadliest year in Everest history when fifteen people died trying to get down from the summit.
