Motion

When the distance goes in a straight line, you can use vector addition and subtraction for finding total distance traveled.

By: Kaitlyn Means

Displacement is both the direction and the length of a straight line from the starting point to the ending pointDisplacement is a vector and a quantity that has both magnitude & direction

11.1 Motion

When the distance doesn't go in a straight line, you can sove by graphing. After graphing, draw a line from the start to the end point to get the resultant vector.

Motion is relative so we use a frame of reference to describe it.

Direction

magnitude

Distance is the length of a path between two points and is measured in meters as the base SI unit. Kilometers are used when measuring long distances.
