Basic Information-Her full name is St. Frances Xavier Cabrini-She was born in Lombardi, Italy in 1850-She died in 1917 at the age of 67 in Chicago, Illinois-Mother Cabrini worked in an orphanage in Italy called the House of Providence Orphanage in Cadogno, Italy. It was closed down by her bishop because Pope LeoXIII asked her to move to America and start orphanages there to work with thousands of Italian immigrants.-When Mother Cabrini first arrived in New York, her intended orphanage building was not availiable. Her bishop advised herto return to Italy, but she refused and was determined to establish the orphanage. She eventually did.-In only 35 years, she founded 67 institutions intended for the poor, the abandoned, the uneducated, and the sick.-She was canonized on July 7, 1946.

Devotion and Cause for Sainthood-The Feast Day of Mother Cabrini is November 13.-Her body is intombed in the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Shrine.-There is a prayer for Mother Cabrini called "Mother Cabrini".-Mother Cabrini was canonized on July 7, 1946.-She helped people who were losing their faith, start to believe again.-Mother Cabrini is known as the "Patroness of Immigrants".

"Fun Facts"-Her body did not decay.-She died with orphanages in England, France, Spain, the United States, and South America.-As a child, she was always afraid of water because she thought that she would drown, but she had flown over the Atlantic Ocean more than 30 times before she died.-Mother Cabrini died of malaria.-She had thousands of orphans in her orphanages, including my great-great aunt who's mother died when she was very young, and her father couldn't care for her and her siblings.
