How It’s acquired: -Doctors can prescribe it to patients. -Try to find a dealer.-Buy opium seeds, harvest, and synthesize some good old fashion morphine.

Similar drugs with similar effects-Similiar drugs with similar effects would be considered opiates or anything that relieves pain.-Codeine, oxycontin/oxycodone, demerol, heroin, vicodin, and etc.

Slang/ Street terms: “Dreamer,” “M," “Miss Emma,” “Monkey,” “Roxanol,” “White Stuff”

Duration of psychological and physiological effects -Morphine stays in the body up to four days . -Depending on the amount of morphine taken, the euphoric effects lasts for 4 to 6 hours. -The beginning of morphine takes place in 15 to 60 minutes. -Morphine begins to eliminate in the body within 2 hours of of a single dose. “12% of morphine manages to leave the body without being metabolized and remains unchanged and can be recovered in the urine.”

One myth that exists about Morphine but is not true “Therapeutic pain-killers (such as morphine) produce high rates of ‘addiction’”Not true because “the likelihood of becoming ‘addicted’ on opioid painkillers is actually low.” People will go through withdrawal, “but willnever want or need the drug again.”

Dependence both physical and physiological effects: Physical includes reliance on a drug to create a chemical in the body, with morphine, the chemical is causing the body to redefine what it considers to be pain. For psychological, it can cause panic symptoms when the drug is not administered.
