MOnkey's Paw

Headline 1Last week we read The Monkey's Paw by W.W Jacobs. We discussed the theme of the story to be fate, and the lesson of our story to be "careful what you wish for". Using your knowledge of the story in its entirety, create a glog to make a movie poster for The Monkey's Paw. After you've created your movie poster, include the four completed documents to your right somewhere on your glog. Be confident and be creative!

During scene 2, Sergeant Major Morris tells Mr. White not to blame him for what happens with the monkey's paw. Why does Mr. White ignore this warning? Can you recall a time when you ignored a warning? Did you have a consequence?

Congratulations! You have been given your own lucky monkey's paw. You may choose three wishes, BUT remember, just like Mr. and Mrs. White, every wish comes with a consequence. Choose three wishes and three reasonable consequences. Is your wish worth the risk?

Assignment 3

At the end of Scene 4, Mr. White's final wish is for the knocking on the front door to go away. Who was knocking? Was it Herbert? Draw a picture to show who or what would have been at the door if Mr. White hadn't wished it away.
