We will begin to see Monarchs in June, but the super generation that flies to Mexico will hatch in September.

Milkweed is very important to Monarchs. They like to lay their eggs on the leaves, and when the larva hatch, they munch on Milkweed like crazy! 1.Common Milkweed/Asclepias syriaca2. Swamp Milkweed/Asclepias incarnata3. Asclepia tuberosa(all found in NJ)

Monarch eggs hatch in 3-8 days.Larvae turn to catterpillars over a 10-14 day period where they constantly eat. They form a pupae or chrysalis where they will develop . In 9-15 days they will emerge as butterflies!
