Mohandas K. Gandhi
A brief rememberance of Gandhi's life before presenting the Gandhi award.
Scripture
Gandhi saw the disfunction between races in South Africa. He decided it was important to fight this non-violently and to help many idians escape from being under British rule. He called his non-violent technique "satyagraha". He advocated for a brotherhood and acceptance between all religions. He encouraged God's plan for us by encouraging us to live in peace He showed that is was important for everyone to come together in order to make a change.

What We Can Do
October 2nd, 1869 - January 30th, 1948
Erin McGlynn
He helped kick-off the Non Cooperation movement of 1920-1922 and the Civil Disobediance movement in 1930.
He taught us to create a just society by constantly standing up for everyone. For example: the salt march.
One way we can carry out Ganhi's works is by finding ways to come together with your community to stand up for someone who has less rights than you.
"The duty of making oneself a neighbor to others and actively serving them becomes even more urgent when it involves the disadvantaged, in whatever area this may be."
About non violence: "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.” (Genesis 9:6)
Through his work, he was able to show everyone God's love and how important God's love is.
