Mockingjay

Summary Following her rescue from the brutal Quarter Quell, Katniss awakes in the underground complex known as District 13. Her home, District 12 has been destroyed by the Capitol and Peeta Mellark, her lover is now being held in the Capitol. At the same time, she finds out that there is rebellion going on and she is a big part of it. Recuctantly, Katniss agrees to be the rebel's "Mockingjay", a symbol of the rebellion. Now, all of Panem is changing, and so are the people. They later rescue Peeta to find that he has been hijacked or also known as brainwashed to think that Katniss, and the rebels are mutts meant to harm everyone. Now, Katniss, along with Peeta must go into battle. Nobody knows who will survive but they know one thing. After this, life as they know it will change forever, but will it be for the better or for the worse? Mockingjay is a story full of love, tragedy, and heartbreak. It shows how one little thing can lead to another and how life really is or what it could be.

Characters The main characters in Mockingjay are Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Finnick Odair, and Gale Hawthorne. Some supporting characters are President Coin, President Snow, Prim(rose) Everdeen, Boggs, Plutarch, Beetee, Annie Cresta, Johanna Mason, Commander Paylor, Haymitch, Pollux, and Castor

Settings The setting in Mockingjay is in Panem, (District 13, The Capitol and briefly, District 12) sometime in the future.

The Hunger Games series Mockingjay is the third and last book in the Hunger Games series. The first book is The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is about a game show in the future where 2 people from each district, which is how the world is split into based on their jobs, fight eachother to the death. Katniss Everdeen lives in District 12 with her sister Prim and her mom when Prim, still 13, gets picked to go to the Hunger Games. Katniss then volunteers to go to The Hunger Games for her sister. The other "tribute" from District 12 is Peeta Mellark. When Katniss and Peeta go to the arena to fight together, Peeta supposedly falls in love with Katniss. Nobody knows who will survive The Hunger Games. The second book in the series is Catching Fire. Catching Fire is about When Katnis and Peeta come back from the arena alive. They later have to travel the districts and meet all the people. What they don't know is that a revolution is stirring and they're a big part of it. But President Snow proves that he is in control with the 75th annual hunger games where old victors go back to the arena. Katniss and Peeta go back too. But this time, Snow won't let Katniss and Peeta get out alive together.

Book ReviewMockingjay is a very interesting book full of detail and I liked it very much. The detail was great and I pesonally think that Suzanne Collins outdid herself. It doesn't quite match up to the action and surprise that was in the first 2 books but I think it was a good conclusion to the series. My one complaint is that it was a little too serious and sorrowfu; where she could have put more hope and joy in it. I also thought that there were a little too many deaths in this book. Suzanne Collins makes us get to know and love the characters and then, they just die. I think that was a little too much. Overall, it was one of those books you just can't put down!Rating:
