Mitosis

Mitosis

the division of the cell nucleus; often followed by division of the cytoplasm of the cell

Chromosomes apear. Centrioles seperate and move to oposite ends of the cell. The mitotic spindle forms. The nuclear membrane and nucleolus break down.

Consists of most of the cell's life. This is the phase in between the cell dividing. DNA replication occurs

Interphase

Chromosomes line up single file at the equator.

Double stranded chromosomes split to form two single stranded chromosomes. Single stranded chromosomes move to opposite poles.

Chromosomes uncoil and become chromatin again. Spindle breaks down and disappears. Nuclear membrane forms. Nucleoli appear in each daughter nucleus.
