A timeline of State from the great migration to today
Population - From 1910 to 1940 Mississippi's population pretty much stayed the same whereas population of states like New york and Illinois exploded because of the great migration.
From 1910 , African Americans started moving from 14 states of the South to North, in hopes of good lives.

Economy - 40s/50s Mississippi's economy remained poor, highly dependent cotton; mechanization, low prices drove rural black farmers off the land
Demographics - African-Americans left Mississippi in great numbers, 1910s = 56% African Americans1930s = 50%1960s = 42%1970s = 36%
Relation - "Johnson: Ain't it something how bad these here white folks is getting here in Chicage! Lord, getting so you think you right down in Mississippi!"
