Mills vs. Board of Education, District of Columbia

Mills vs. Board case extended the Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Children case to include children with other exceptionalities, not only those with mental disabilities.

Judicial ruling stated that schools could not deny education to students with diverse learning needs because of "insufficient resources".

This 1972 case was brought forth on the behalf of seven school children who were denied access to public schooling/public education due to their various other learning needs.

This case established protection rights of the child by notifying parents of initial evaluations and the termination of special services as well as reassignment.
