Mike Fitzpatrick

Early LifeCongressman Mike Fitzpatrick is a resident of Bucks County, where he has lived all of his life. He is a graduate of Bishop Eagan High School, which is located in Fairless Hills. He received his Bachelor´s degree at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. After graduating, Mike decided to return to Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State´s Dickinson School of Law. At the same time, he was the Business Manager of the Dickinson Journal of International Law.

Political BackgroundMike got to where he is today by starting out in 1995 on the Bucks County Board of Commisioners. He went on to become a powerful influence in the 10 years he was on the board. He was a part of preserving 11,000 acres of farm/park land in Bucks County. He lead the movement to create the county's first Enterprise Zone, which created over 4,000 private sector jobs in his home county.Mike was in the 8th District from 2005-2007, but he lost his seat the following year. He went on to practice law in Bucks County, and returned to his district in 2011.

Current Political StatusMike is currently serving in the House of Represantatives. He is currently a part of the R-PA 8th District, and he has been since 2011. Mike Fitzpatrick is a part of the Republican Party. He served in Congress for two years from 2005-2007 and again for four years from 2011 to present.

Stance on AbortionMike Fitzpatrick opposes abortion, along with federal abortion funding. He voted no on allowing embryonic stem cell research.

Stance on EducationMike Fitzpatrick voted no on spending $84 million in grants for Black/Hispanic schools. He supports the contributions of Catholic schools, however.
