The Midwest

The states located in this region are North Dakota, Michigan,Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

The role of agriculture: Most of the Midwest is relatively flat, and it is especially fertile. Ancient glaciers from the ice age deposited mineral-rich materials that help plant growth. The growing season is longer which helps make food and products for the Midwest.

The climate is normally warm in the summer and cold in the winter. In the northern states it gets colder, and in the south it is warmer.Their economy: They get a living by working in mines, fishing, and tourism. We get our water supply from underneath the Great Plains, and our most common water supply comes from the Great Lakes.

Some of our major industries are automanufacturing from detroit, airplane manufacturing from St.Louis.factors that make the Midwest a center of trade and transportation are that we have the Mississippi river to transport and trade things, over 600 million tons of goods travel thriough the Mississippi River each year.

The badlands of South Dakota and Mount Rushmore are both examples of the major landforms
