Importance and InfluenceWithout fungi, we'd be dead. Let me expand upon the subject. Plants determine on fungi to take in water and nutrients because they can't do themselves. The fungi absorbes nutrients out of reach and lets the foliage take in the necessary needs.
This picture shows the 4 main fungi groups
ClassificationsFungi are eukaryotic organisms such as yeast and mold, (like the image shown below), and flowering bacterium like mushrooms. more specific classifications of fungi include Sac fungi, Basidiomycota, Zygomycota, and Hyphomecytes. Fungi are heterotrophic organisms and make their own food.
Uses and different possibilitiesIn nature, fungi supports as an aid to out plant life. Fungi are also saprophytes which means they feed off the dead, decaying material around them, helping clean up and removing extra debris from accumilating.
DiscoveryEven though fungi aren't a rare specimen, it is very difficult to find ancient remains of fungal bacteria. Most reminents of fungi are microscopic. Little to no large bodied fungal systems have been found such as mushrooms. If there are, they would be foud in amber, such as the material you read in my last poster.
