1475, March 6: Michelangelo is born in Caprese, Italy.1487: Became an apprentice to the painter Domenico Gniriadaio1490-92: Worked in the Medici Household1594-95: Worked in Bologna1495: Returned to Florence and carved St. John 1496-1501: Moved to Rome. He carved the Bacchus and the Pieta1504: Completed the David1508-1512: Painted the ceiling of the Cistine Chapel in Rome1515-1534: Carved the Tombs for the Medici family and designed the Medici Chapel in Florence 1524: Commissioned to design the Laurentian at San Lorenzo 1545-1550: Worked on the Pauline Chapel Fresco (Fresco: Painting/Mural on wet plaster)1555: Completed the Pieta in Florence1564, February 18: Died in his sleep. The Pope wanted to have him buried in St. Peter's, But Michelangelo’s nephew (his heir) takes his body back to Florence were it was buried in Sana Croce. Over 100 artist attended his funeral.
