Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475 in Caprese, Italy and died February 18, 1564.

Michelangelo was a famous painter, sculptor, architect, and poet during the Renaissance.


His full name was Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni.

In his free time he was a poet, he wrote over 300 poems.

Michelangelo most famous was painted on to the celling of the Sistine Chapel, the painting is called The Creation of Adam.

Michelangelo was a important man during the Renaissance, he painted and scuplted many important peices of art around Eroupe. Some of his most famous peices of art are on the celling of the Sistine Chapel. The Pope at the time payed him to paint this massive peice of art it was 141 feet long and 43 feet wide! There are over 300 people in this painting and no two are the same! It took over 4 years to paint!

Statue of DavidIt is 13 feet tall and was the largest statue made since Ancient Rome. He made this in private and it is consideredby many experts to be a perfect statue.

The PietaThe statue shows Jesus after he was crucified lying on the lap of Mary. It is the only piece of art that Michelangelo signed.
