Level 3 Question:Imagine life without the inventions, inovations, and ideas that were created in the civilization of Mesopotamia.
Essential Question:How does the exploration of ideas, influences, inventions, and innovations sustain and/or change?
Ancient Civilizations
Mesopotamia
Over the years the world has changed and shaped to what it now is today. The civilization of Mesopotamia created many things that we still use today such as the wheel, the 360 degree circle, mathematics, 60 minutes to an hour, and much more. Unlike the recognized inventions and inovations, Mesopotamia had creations to benefit their own being dikes, cunieform, and many others. The sumerian city-states emerged long ago and continued to evolve with more ideas and a greater understanding of a civilization. Without the imagination that took place in Mesopotamia the world would be very different.
Contact Lens:Students will investigate the past events and ideas of Ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt in an effort to generate understanding of the current events taking place in the Middle East.
