Economic-Wealthy merchants tended to be elavborate & changed according to the dictators of fashion.-Brighter Colors, Better materials & a long jacket signified wealth.
Socially -Men wore sported hose & a jacket, with either a pleating, skirting, or a tunic with a surcoat.-Women wore flowing gowns and elaborate headwear.-Holy Orders wore long woolen habits in emulation of Roman Clothing.

Increasing sales-When merchants sell luxurious clothing, their popularity will rise.-Merchants sold diamonds, gournishes, with silver and ring brooches.
Decreasing SalesDuring fairs, merchants were forced to work in stalls since craftsmen was making more money.
PoliticallyBy the mid-fourteenth century there were laws to control who wore what jewelry.Knights weren't allowed to wear rings.Only the wealthy were allowed to wear rare items.
