Mayan Writing and Syllabary

In 1566 first bishop of Yucatan Diego de Landa made the Landa alphabet consisting of 27 spanish letters and Mayan hieroglyphs found in the temples when the city was abandoned.

The Mayan indians had a very sophisticated way of writing. They had hieroglyphs and syllabary.

The Mayan script was one of the only things in the abandoned Mayan city made by some Spainard bishops. The script is written in the Landa alphabet.
