Massachusettes Bay Colony

As Puritans poured into the Massachusetts Bay Colony, they began to form towns and communities.

The migration of the Puritans differed greatly from migration in other colonies. While other colonies grew slowly, the Puritan migration was incredibly fast.

The original 13 colonies were divided into three geographic areas consisting of the New England, Middle and Southern colonies.The Massachusetts Colony was classified as one of the New England Colonies. Massachusetts bay colony settled in 1630 by a group of about 1,000 Puritan refugees from England under Governor John Winthrop.
