- A pestilence called "Red Death" has struck the country.- Prince Prospero and his rich friends isolate themselves at one of his abbeys.- About 5 months later, Prospero throws a masquerade ball.- At midnight, Red Death appears.- Prospero chases Red Death through all the rooms.- Prospero gets killed by Red Death in the dark room.- Everybody dies from Red Death.

Red Death came to the country and Prince Prospero tries to avoid it.

Born on January 19, 1809, Edgar Allan Poe was a famous writer who wrote dark, gothic, horror stories. Some of his works include The Masque of the Red Death, Hop-Frog, The Black Cat, etc.... Poe died on October 7, 1849 at age 40. Nobody ever knew the cause of his death.

In the end, Red Death eventually arrived at the party and killed everybody.
