Mary MacKilop

Who am I as a Just leader?

Mary Helen MacKillop known in life as Mother Mary of the Cross, was born on 15 January 1842 in Fitzroy, Melbourne, the eldest of eight children of Alexander McKillop and his wife Flora.

In 1873 at Rome Mary obtained papal approval of the Sisterhood but the Rule of Life laid down by Tenison-Woods and sanctioned by the bishop on 17 December 1868 was discarded and another drawn up.

She travelled widely in Europe visiting schools and observing methods of teaching, and returned to Adelaide on 4 January 1875.

In these days before the Canonisation of Blessed Mary MacKillop we might reflect on the example of this very ordinary woman, this Aussie Battler, who took the gifts given to her by God and used them to the very best of her ability. We are not talking about immense gifts: she was not an artist or an opera singer or an actress. She was an ordinary woman, from a humble and poverty-stricken family who listened to God and did what God wanted her to do.

In my opinion Mary is a wonderful person who cares for everyone in the whole world are she cane make a differents in the world.

This year I have focused on being a better person

God has gave many talents to people and my talents are begining a nice person and good at sports.
