Martin Luther King

"I HAVE A DREAM.."

Dr. King organized the march on Washington, D.C. where he gave his famous, "I Have a Dream" speech. With Dr. King's help and urging, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the 1965 Civil Rights Act into law. He even influenced a music group (U2) in Ireland to write a song about him titled, "Pride".

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in the segregated south, where black people were not given the same rights as everyone else. He became the face of the Civil Rights movement.
