He was an American Paster, activist, and was the leader of the African American Civil Rights Movement.

Life of MLK


Bus Boycott

On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. gave one of the most famous speeches about equality.

On Decemder 10, 1964, King was awarded the nobel peice prize.

Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of a world with equality for everyone and a world with no racism. Today, we remember him by expressing our graditude by building a Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, DC.

On March 28, MLK led a peaceful march that turned violent. This was the first event that ever turned violent.

On April 4th, MLK was fatally shot while standing on a balcony in the Lorraine Motel, Memphis, Tenneessee.

King joins the bus boycott after Rosa Parks was urested on December 1st. After king is elected by the president to be the official spokesman for the boycott.
