Martin Luther King, Jr.

His persistence for equal rights helped change public opinion and helped get the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed. He was the youngest person ever to win a Nobel peace prize.

He gave his "I have a dream" speech on 8/28/1963. He gave the speech in front of the Lincoln memorial for 250,000 people.

MLK was elected leader of the Montgomery bus boycott on the night of December 1st 1955.

He was born on 1/15/1929 in Atlanta, Georgia.In a neighborhood called Sweet Auburn.

He was assassinated by James Earl Ray on 4/4/1968 while standing on a balcony at the Lorraine motel.
