Martha Washington

Martha Washington's husband is George Washington, commander of the Continental Army. She was easily targeted by the British, so she often had an assigned body guard. She was also a Patriot. Martha and George barely ever seperated during the years of the war. She and a few other women started a group that was an aid to the soldiers. She donated $20,ooo to the campaign in October of 1780. That money paid for most of the soldiers supplies and clothing. She inspired most people and was named "Lady Washington's Reel" or "Lady Washington's Quick Step."
