Mario Vargas Llosa
Mr. Mario Vargas Llosa is one of the greatest writers in Latin America, born in 1936. Arequipa, Perú. He won a Nobel Prize in 2010. He currently lives in Spain. His biography caught my attention because he started his literacy career at the age of 17, I admire his talent. Mario Vargas Llosa and Gabriel Garcia Marquez forever will be two icons in the world of literature. Colombian, Gabriel Garcia Marquez died this year leaving behind an arsenal of great books such as One Hundred Years of Solitude (Cien años de Soledad) amongst many others. Mr. Vargas Llosa doesn’t believe in Tweeter, Facebook, or any other social network he feels that it takes away his time from writing important literature.

It was a time of violence and cruelty – he believes that Trujillo’s death was well deserved being Mario Vargas Llosa a defender of democracy and a grand critic for dictatorship. In 1990 he was elected to presidency for Peru but, lost to ex-president Fujimori (a current fugitive of the Nation). If Vargas Llosa had to run again for presidency in 2016 - he would be running against Fujimori’s daughter. I think that if giving the opportunity to ask Mr. Vargas Llosa a question will be what book would you recommend the kids my age to read.
Gabriel Garcia Marquez ' Mario Vargas Llosa
Thru his books he taught society the importance of education and formation of the new generations. In 1975 Vargas Llosa lived in The Dominican Republic for many months where he learned about the cruel dictatorship of former president Rafael Trujillo. Based on this experience in the Dominican Republic he writes the book: The Feast of the Goat (La fiesta del chivo)
I will end this biography with a couple of Zingers: “Writing is a way of re-living” Vargas llosa says. I, like that very much! He also says that at the age of 78 and with the years of experience of literacy he still consults the dictionary when needed because according to him and I have to agree – “we’ll never finish learning the language we speak”.
