In 1941 Moraes was Nominated for the Itamaraty Award 1945 - Was a writer for the Diário Carioca Newspaper 1946 - became a Vice Consul of Brasil in Los Angeles 1951 - Came back from the USA / Wrote the Última Hora, O Jornal, Diário Carioca e Diretrizes 1953 – Composed his first samba “Quando tu passas por mim”, with Antonio Maria / Moved to Paris, France as 2nd Secretary of the Embassy of Brazil, where he wrote the “Orfeu da Conceição” play 1956 - Came back to Rio de Janeiro and started a partnership with Tom Jobim / Premiered the “Orfeu da Conceição” play in the county theater / Dedicated himself to music and left poetry in the background
