The Impact of the Manhattan Project

PurposeThe purose of the Manhattan project was to make a nuclear bomb that ended World War II. Albert Einstein and Enrico Fermi were two people who helped make the atomic bomb. Enrico was a physicis who left Italy for America. Albert escaped from Nazi captivation and fled to America. Thses two physicists both helped build the atomic bomb.

Impact of the Manhattan ProjectThe impact of the Manhattan Project affected thousands of lives. Without the progress of the Manhattan Project, there would have been a lot more lives that would be gone, but the project was a success and because of that the world has had some more amazing discoveries about nuclear projects and the world is a safer place.

What happenedEarly in 1939, the world's scientific community discovered that German physicists had learned the secrets of splitting an atom that could make a huge explosion. Fears soon spread over the possibility of Nazi scientists utilizing that energy to produce a bomb capable of unspeakable destruction. Then, scientists Albert Einstein and Enrico Fermi had to warn the Pesident Roosevelt about the destruction that their enemies are capable of doing.
