Management Final

Motivation!Postitive privileges are great motivators for students. Something as simple as the privilege of going to the "creatice corner" can highly motivate your students.

Management Final

Building CommunityThe most obvious but important way that I will build community in my class will be through holding regular morning/class meetings. This helps me get to know the students and them to get to know each other. It builds trust, friendships, and knowledge!

STUDENT CHOICES!

INVOLVE!

SAFE ENVIRONMENT!

AUTONOMY!

Building CommunityHave a VIP/Student of the day or week. This helps the students feel special and appreciated by all, at least a few days of the year.

Motivation! It's amazing how much giving students choices can motivate them. These kind of choicescan be for how they will complete their assignments, or even what content their assignments will cover. If they are always told what to do and how to do it, and are not given the opportunity to make deisions for themselves, they often lose enthusiasm.

EngagementChange it up! Use more than just Direct Instruction. Use variety in your assignments and teaching. Students will become bored with repetition and they will become more engaged with variety.

COMMUNITY!

EngagementDifferentiate so that all students are working within their ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development). If students are not challenged enough, they will become bored. If they are given work that is too challenging, they will become overwhelmed and often give up.
