He went on a 21 day fastto protest against the war between Muslims and Hindus

"Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man."

"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary. The evil it does is permanent."

Gandhi led the Salt March in 1930,leading htousands of Indians tothe Arabian Sea from Ahmadabad.This led to the arest of nearly 60,000 people, including Gandhi himself.

Gandhi joined the Indian National Congress in 1913

Gandhi demanded immediate dependance for India in 1942 and the British responded by imprisoning him and tens of thousands of Congress leaders.

Gandhi was the leader of the Indian Inpependance Movement in British-controlled India

In the May of 1883, Gandhiwas forced into marriage at the age of 13with Kasturbana Makhanji

Gandhi freed India in the August of 1947, after many protests, campaigns, and struggles.
