Magnets

Magnetism By:Joseph C.

Magnets werent invented but found by achient Greeks in 600 B.C. They discovered a rock called magnetite that attracts material containing iron.

History

Parts of a Magnet

The strongest part of a magnet are the poles. There are two poles called North and South and are labled on the magnet as N and S. These magnetic poles are attracted to the magnetic north and south poles of the earth, hence why they can be used as a compass.

Magnetism is the foce of attraction or repulsion of magnetic materials.

Magnetism

Uses of Magnets

Some uses of magnets are:*They are used in a compass. *They are used in cranes *They are used in your T.V, computers, and tape recorders.

Magnetic Field

The magnetic field is the part of a magnet which allows the attraction and repulsion of ferromagnetic materials.

Orginal Use

The orginal use of magnets were compass.

Compass

The magnetic field is the part of a magnet which allows the attraction and repulsion of ferromagnetic materials.

Characteristics

The characteristics an object must have to be magnet is the object has to attract to iron and materials that contain iron. They aso must repel or attract other magnets, and one end of a magnet will always point north when swingly freely.

Compass

A compass is a device that has a magnet on a needle that spins freely. Magnetism works a compass through Eearth's magnetism. Eearth has a magnetic field around it and two magnetic poles. The poles of the compass allign themselves with the magnetic field of Earth.
