[2015] Gia Broska (Cosmetology I): Macbeth FINAL COPY

Macbethby: William Shakespeare

I choose a tomb stone that says regrets, for my first character picture for Macbeth. Macbeths's choices that he made throughout the play have led him to a place where he was getting killed for his wrong doings. First he made the decision to kill King Duncan and blame his doing on the guards. Then he killed Banquo, Lady Macduff, and Lady Macduff's son, who he didnt even have the courage to do it himself. He was responsible for all of their deaths, and he wa punished for it. "Before my body, I throw my war like sheild." (V.VIII.446)

For my theme picture I chose a picture that represents the coosing of right and wrong. Power is a strong theme in Macbeth because Macbeth's craving for power made him forsee his right and wrong decision makeing and led him to make decisions that alltimately led to his death. "I pray you, speak not; he grows worse/ and worse;Question enrages him. At once, good night/Stand not upon the order of your going,/ but go at once." (III.IV.428)

For my symbol picture I chose a bloody dagger because the dagger was a repeating symbol of the people Macbeth and Lady Macbeth killed through out the play. Before Macbeth killed King Duncan, he saw a bloody dagger at the end of the hall. Macbeth was so stressed about killing King Duncan that his mond was playing trick on him and making him think that he is seeing a bloody dagger. "A dagger in my mind, a false creation,/ proceding from the heat-oppressed brain?" (II.I.419)

I choose picture of Macbeth's Scotland for my stting picture becausethe play takes place in mulitiple places throughtout the play.It mostly takes place in Dunsinane where Macbeth's castle is. The map also shows the territories in which the Thanes "rule". ''The Thane of Cawdor lives, why do you dress me/ in borrowed robes" (I.II.414)

I choose a picture of a woman holding a man, yelling at him, for my second character picture, because in the scenes that Lady Macbeth and Macbeth were together, Lady Macbeth wanted him do something that changed their fate. She was controling and manipulating. She manipulated him into killing King Duncan by calling him a coward and challening his manliness. "Wouldst thou have that/which thou esteem'st the ordiment of life,/ and live a coward in thine own esteem." (I.VII.418). She called him a coward so that he would get offended and make him show her that he isnt a coward, so that she would get what she wanted.

I chose "I want it all" by: Sharpey Evans because she is saying that she wants to go all the way and all the power to get to the top. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth wanted all the power and all of the land so that they could feel greatness that they felt that they deserved, just like Sharpey in High School Musical.

For my video clip I chose (III.I.425). Macbeth was coming up with reasons on why Banquo deserves the crown. Banquo had wisdom, sons to carry on his name, and a nature to royalty. Macbeth was second guessing his decision to eliminate Banquo and his sons until he was interrupted by the murders who he hired to kill his best friend.

Summary: In the play, three witches come to Macbeth and tell him that he will become the King of Scotland, so him and his wife come up with a plan to kill the current king.Macbeth kills Duncan, the King of Scotland, with the help of his wife, and blame it on the guards."What not put upon/His spongy officers, who shall bear the guilt/ Of our great quell" (I.VII.418) Macbeth's friend Banquo will have sons who become kings. Macbeth took what the witches said seriously and over thought it and ended up underestimating the witches. After Macbeth kills Banquo, Macbeth becomes king and tries to kill everyone who might want to take the throne away from him. The ghost of Banquo, whom he killed, haunts him at an important banquet. Because killing the king was wrong, Macbeth's wife kills herself and Macbeth is overthrown and killed. Duncan's son Malcolm then becomes King of Scotland. "Hail, King! for so thou art. Behold, where stands/ The usurper's cursed head. The time is free." (V.VIII.445)

Modern day connection: Macbeth is a modern day connection to The Walking dead because a lot of characters in the tv show have a desire for power. They all feel that they because they feel as if they deserve it because of what has happend to the world. Every character in that show has such a detailed past that you could relate them to characters in Macbeth, like the Governor to Macbeth because the Governor wanted all the power, land, supplies, and guns all to himself just like Macbeth. I can relate Rick Grimes to Macduff because the Governor took his home and friends away from him just like Macbeth took Macduff's wife and son away from him. So their solution was to eliminate the evil that corrupted their power. I relate Ross,Lennox, and Angus to Glenn, Daryl and Maggie because they always stay true to their true friends. Just like Ross, Lennox, and Angus did for King Duncan, they would do for Rick.
